Velosure are proud to announce a partnership with Sustrans and the National Cycle Network.
At Velosure Cycle Insurance we understand that the cycleways of Great Britain are of the utmost importance, which is why we are proud to be partnered with national registered charity Sustrans, working in tandem to support the upkeep, improvement and protection of the UK Cycle Network.
Sustrans have been in operation for over 40 years, continually pushing to improve conditions to make it easier for the population to walk and cycle around Great Britain, with the goal of creating a safer environment, liveable neighbourhoods and a happier, healthier commute.
Recently Sustrans have been involved in fantastic initiatives such as Bike Life, an assessment of city cycling development that includes key data on infrastructure, travel behaviour, and the overall satisfaction of cycling in UK cities.
They have also been proactive in looking at solutions to improve air quality in the UK. They have produced an “Actively Improving Air Quality” report which involved the input of a round table of local authorities and former Olympian cyclist Chris Boardman, now Greater Manchester’s Cycling and Walking Commissioner.
Speaking of the affiliation, Ken Specter, Managing Director at Velosure said:
Sustrans continues to push hard for real investment and improvement and many areas of the country are now seeing the benefits in traffic calming measures and cycle lanes in key areas.
Velosure and its policyholders will work to support these initiatives by highlighting the need for investment and commitment to improving infrastructure.
We are pleased to be affiliated with Sustrans, supporting their national mission. As members of the cycling community we want to help by making sure insurance is affordable and relevant to our policyholders cycling experiences day to day.
We are delighted to work together with Sustrans to provide our customers with top quality insurance protection, as well as assist in helping to keep our National Cycle Network safe, well maintained and expanding.
