Velosure Cycle Insurance: As Seen On Money Saving Expert

It might not be a legal requirement to get insurance for your bicycle, but being insured is invaluable if an accident does happen.

This is a sentiment shared by Money Saving Expert (MSE), who have a whole article dedicated to ranking cycle insurers by price; and we’re on there!

Insurance is described on MSE as a ‘financial helmet’, and we couldn’t agree more. Being insured not only means you’re covered for well-known risks such as accidental damage and theft, it also means you are covered for more niche risks that, whilst less likely to happen, can be extremely expensive if they do.

This includes incidents such as road rage assault and public liability – both of these are areas that have made the cycling news in the last year because of their extreme and costly nature.

Getting insurance specifically for your cycle is particularly worthwhile if there is more than one bike in your household and if you enjoy taking part in races like triathlons.

MSE have ranked insurer pricing based on bike value, and we’re delighted to be able to say we are number one for a total bike(s) value of £4000 or over, and number two for a bike(s) value under £4000.

Okay, I think I should look into getting insured. What do I do next?
