Largely an entertainment activity for aristocratic families in their own estates, the Cycle was invented by German Baron Karl von Drais in 1817 and was called The Running machine. This was invented by German Baron Karl von Drais. This cycle had two wheels, no chains or pedals. Also called the "human horse" it was propelled by pushing feed on the ground.
